love, or something like it

love, what is it?

how many times have i heard that word be passed around, some of them were serious, some just threw it like it was another word. but why does love have to do so many things to us? love really can do just about anything to a person, it can bring them to the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows. i've seen people who have been their happiest while in a relationship, but then see those very same people have their love crumble before their very eyes and never completely recover. so waht is this very emotion, word, verb, there's so many ways it's used it can get confusing.

first i'll talk about love the verb. as a verb it's said so easily nowadays. "good bye, i love you", as a way of parting, or, "aww i love you", as a way of saying thanks, or as a way of showing how much someone means to you as a friend. it no longer is used solely in the romantic sense. people say it's because old fashioned romance is dead, and it's true, we are now in the age of hookups and flings. i guess i'm a mix, i admit i use to word love to describe my relationship with my friends, i describe it as a love not in a romantic sense, but in a sense that i love them as a person, for who they are, not for being a potential partner.

which brings me to my next paragraph, on love the feeling, also works closely with love as a word, the two go hand in hand. love the emotion can take many forms as well. it can be a bond between friends, or as it's most commonly thought of to represent, the affection between two people. i believe tho that it has become less impactful in its usage, it is used so often that it's become softer in meaning due to it. perhaps there are a few reasons why this is so, but i believe that it can only go to a point at which it is overused, which i think it has. now i'm old fashioned when it comes to romance, but how can that be a bad thing?

also something that has come to my attention is the view on love. nowadays people are too quick to say that they're in love, and then suddenly, they're not, sorry, love doesn't work that way. love isn't supposed to be that easy, if it was, i honestly think there's no point. if you do not work hard at it, you are less likely to appreciate it. i think that's one thing that makes good relationships soo good, why after so long couples can still be faithful, they remember what they had to go through to get where they are.

i onno, that's just some thoughts i've been having...holy crap this post actually took a week to write xD...i'm soo lazy
